The broad field of recreation and leisure emphasizes the understanding of various leisure phenomena. The course provides the students with an introductory understanding of the nature and scope of leisure, leisure behavior, and affiliated recreation activity. It also provides an introductory analysis of leisure services in modern society from sociological, psychological and social psychological perspectives.

Recreation is an activity of leisure, leisure being discretion anytime. The "need to do something for recreation" is an essential element of human biology and psychology. Recreational activities are often done for enjoyment, amusement or pleasure and are considered to be "fun".

Recreation is about activities, pastimes, and experiences which are freely chosen. They are usually undertaken in free time and produce feelings of wellbeing, fulfilment, enjoyment, relaxation and satisfaction. They are opportunities to express creativity, achieve and master new things and feel good about doing so.

Community based recreation offers an opportunity to meet people while enjoying arrange of social, cultural or physical activities.

Recreation and leisure activities are an important dimension of the quality of life for all students, including those with disabilities. Through recreationwehavefun,facilitatesocialinteractions,anddevelopskills.

This module provides an opportunity for the learners to appreciate the other components of hospitality and tourism management as travel trends, developments and operators of resorts, hotels, golf courses and country club facilities for leisure, sports and recreation.

It will also give them a closer look of the options, pursuits, and possibilities of the gaming industry. The learners will study the challenges in learning about this field as a personal pursuit, professional career or a combination of both and to value the significance of the parks, recreation and leisure.
