The Life and work of Rizal Subject is a three-unit lecture course offered to Bachelor of Science in Business Administration students. As mandated by Republic Act 1425, this course deals with the life, works, and writings of national hero Jose P. Rizal. It emphasizes the impact of martyrdom and presents a critical view of the social order in which Rizal lived. The course subject also deals with the opinions on nationalism, government, religion, and philosophy of life through analyzing Rizal’s works and letters to the relevance of the ideas in the contemporary Philippine scene.
BC MATH 111 ALGEBRA & TRIGONOMETRY || ECON 1B
Algebra and Trigonometry is a 3-unit basic core course subject offered to BA Economics students. This subject is designed to prepare students for calculus. The study covers topics such as polynomials, products, and factors; roots, rational exponents; rational expressions; degree and radian angle measure; right triangle; trigonometry and its applications; trigonometric functions and their inverses; and applied problem-solving. The students will be simplifying expressions involving polynomials, radicals, rational, and exponential terms using appropriate properties and rules, use the structure of a function to sketch graphs and verify trigonometric identities by algebraically manipulating expressions using fundamental trigonometric identities
The students are encouraged to devise economic models using the different mathematical tools and techniques discussed based on firms' and consumers' behavior at the end of the course.
FIL 111 KONTEKSTWALISADONG KOMUNIKASYON SA FILIPINO || ECON 1B
Ang KOMFIL o Kontekstwalisadong Komunikasyon sa Filipino ay binubuo ng tatlong yunit na nakapokus sa praktikal na kursong nagpapalawak at nagpapalalim sa kontekstwalisadong komunikasyon sa wikang Filipino ng mga mamamayang Pilipino sa kani-kanilang mga komunidad sa partikular, at sa buong lipunang Pilipino sa pangkalahatan. Nakatuon ang kursong ito sa makrokasanayang pakikinig at pagsasalita, gayundin sa kasanayan sa paggamit ng iba’t ibang tradisyonal at modernong midya na makabuluhan sa kontekstong Pilipino sa iba’t ibang antas at larangan.
Pagkatapos ng isang semestre, ang mga mag-aaral ay inaasahang makagawa ng isang kulminasyon na naglalaman ng iba’t ibang sitwasyong pangkomunikasyon gamit ang Wikang Pambansa at nakabatay sa tema ng Buwan ng Wika. Asahan ang iba’t ibang gawain na makapaghuhubog sa paggamit ng Wikang Filipino sa kontekstwalisadong pagkatuto.
